Maximum reuse of existing product components and service life extension are the Army’s priorities here. The Army has finalized its award of a potential 10-year, $921.1 million contract to 10 companies for work to prolong the lifespans of tactical engagement simulation systems.
Also known as TESS, they are laser-based systems used in live simulation training to evaluate a solder’s performance.
Solicitation documents issued in August describe the Army’s emphasis on maximum reuse of existing product components in order to extend their service lives.
Every company who submitted a bid received an award, the Pentagon said in its Thursday contracts digest.
Awardees are as follows:

- Cole Engineering Services, a By Light subsidiary
- Cubic Defense
- General Dynamics’ mission systems business unit
- Lockheed Martin
- Mettle Ops
- Ravenswood Solutions
- Saab
- Skiftech
- Vertex Aerospace (now merged into V2X)
